Effective Instructor Qualities:
An effective instructor needs to have
knowledge of and be enthusiastic about learning and their content area; to be
able to develop lesson plans and create assessments that incorporate the
diversity of students they will encounter; be professional and have initiative;
be able to create a safe, supportive, student-centered environment; facilitate
learning and communication with and between students; collaborate with
colleagues, parents, and students; and continuously reflect and grow.
I have experience as a diverse trainer:
I am uniquely qualified to be a software trainer and helpdesk agent. I have been able to help people who range in ages from sixth grade to working professional and at all different levels technologically; they have learned skills in mathematics and technology. As a helpdesk agent contracted to Collegis Education through Insight Global, I have helped Rasmussen students find information and learn new technology as well as troubleshooting. I graduated with honors from the JJC Career Step Computer Technician program with a
concentration in A+ I completed. My Classroom Experience taught me:
During my years in the classroom
and even more years tutoring, I have been able to hone my skills teaching
adolescents and adults while finding multiple ways to explain topics according
to individualized needs. I have created numerous assessments to test for
certain knowledge based on decided objectives. I have also been able to try
different classroom management and teaching styles along the way. I created a
math blog for my students to have immediate access to important information
anywhere they may be. I produced online forms to track information using survey
links and organized parent contact and student help. I learn new material and
computer software quickly. As a co-team lead in my department, I was able to organize curriculum
writing and collaboration meetings, along with providing personal training for
any members of my team or others that needed it on the new online-based program
implemented in that year. As a day-to-day and long term math substitute, I
ascertained new programs both online and software quickly as the location needs
changed.
My Office Experience has taught me:
While working at a loan company, I was able to develop my customer service skills including problem solving and creating and maintaining relationships with customers, coworkers, and management; I also balanced and learned the computer program for verifying ledgers and applying interest which closed business every day. I was responsible for training other employees on this process and created a procedure for that purpose. I am very organized, dedicated, hard-working, and reliable.
